About MeKeto

Free keto calculators & tools

MeKeto does one job: give someone doing keto a number they can act on, and show the work behind it. That is 18 calculators, a 268-food database with net carbs and a keto verdict on every entry, 13 restaurant guides, and a set of plain-language articles.

Nobody writing this site is a doctor, dietitian, or nutritionist. MeKeto is written by people who follow the diet, not by clinicians, and we do not write as though we were. What we can do is take published formulas, apply them carefully, name the sources, and let you check the arithmetic. The tools exist because the free calculators we could find hid their math and skipped the cases that actually come up, like PCOS, keto after 40, or a fat fast.

Every core tool on MeKeto is free to use and needs no account. The site earns nothing today: no ads, no affiliate commissions, no sponsored content. If any of that changes, whatever pays us will be labeled where you see it.

How the numbers are made

Every tool here runs on established, published formulas. Energy and macros use Mifflin-St Jeor by default and Katch-McArdle when you supply a measured body fat percentage. The food database takes its values from USDA FoodData Central. The keto ratios come from the clinical ketogenic literature, and the net-carb math treats erythritol differently from maltitol because your body does.

Rather than summarize that here, we publish it. Our methodology page writes out every equation, activity multiplier, goal adjustment, and variant ratio the site actually runs, along with the sources they came from and a plain account of what they cannot tell you.

Two more pages set out how the site operates. The editorial policy covers sourcing standards, what “last updated” means, and how corrections are handled. The content review process covers what gets checked before a page goes live, what that check cannot catch, and when to take a question to a dietitian or physician instead.

When a number here is wrong, we want to know about it. Corrections to a calculator or a food entry go through the contact page and ship with the next deploy.

Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before starting any new diet, including a ketogenic diet, particularly if you have an existing medical condition such as diabetes, kidney disease, cardiovascular disease, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Calculated macro targets are estimates based on population-average formulas and may not be appropriate for every individual. Use results as a starting point and adjust based on your personal response and the guidance of your healthcare provider.
