These are the savory answer to a sweet fat bomb. Cream cheese and sharp cheddar get seasoned, rolled into little balls, then coated in crumbled bacon so every bite has crunch.

Keep a batch in the fridge for when hunger hits between meals. They are rich enough that one or two settles a craving fast.

Ingredients

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh chives

Instructions

  1. 1

Cook the bacon until crisp, drain, and crumble it finely onto a plate.

  2. 2

In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, garlic powder, onion powder, chives, salt, and pepper until well combined.

  3. 3

Chill the mixture for 20 minutes so it firms up enough to handle.

  4. 4

Scoop and roll the mixture into 12 small balls.

  5. 5

Roll each ball in the crumbled bacon to coat, then chill until firm before serving.

Tips

  • Wet your hands lightly before rolling so the mixture does not stick.
  • They keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to five days.
